Environmentally Friendly And Ethical Events
We are working towards becoming the ‘greenest’ funfair operators in the UK. Ideally we would like to be carbon neutral and recycle 100% of our waste. Realistically we are aware that with the current state of technology this isn’t possible, but we are working towards that goal. As part of the initial phase of this policy we have began construction of a number of portable recycling stations for use at our outdoor events.
Our catering carts have all been provided with mini recycling bins which can be used indoors or out and mean that the bulk of the waste our catering operations produce is already being recycled. Aluminium cans, wood and plastic are being separated and delivered to the requisite recyclers, coffee grounds, tea bags and other organic waste is being disposed of in our own micro treatment system where it is turned into compost. We have also committed ourselves to switching to Fairtrade products wherever possible. Our coffee carts use Fairtrade beans, our candy floss is made with Fairtrade sugar. Together with our environmental policies we believe this will help set us on the road to becoming the most ethical funfair company in the U.K. If you are planning an event based around Fairtrade values, our carts always stock a variety of Fairtrade material including bunting, leaflets, posters and our staff wear Fairtrade aprons.
From 1 June 2008, our primary electrical generators will be running from 100 per cent bio diesel made from waste vegetable oil, meaning that we are now leading the way in the provision of environmentally responsible funfairs!
