We supplied a range of attractions at the weekend to an event at St Helens rugby club. It was to mark the end of their old stadium as they are having a new stadium constructed. Anyway the event went off quite well, if a little quiet. When it came to the derig, we were bobbing along nicely until some short fat little git decided he was going to show everyone he was the boss by informing us that if we didn't have everything out in within 5 minutes he was going to lock up and we would have to come back the next day.
As it happened we were almost finished and with a sizeable crew didn't really have to put too much effort into finishing. One lady who was operating other equipment however, found that not only had the short arsed little prat locked up before she was finished, but he had actually locked her in!! With the result that although they had a 2 and a half hour journey ahead of them, it took a good twenty minutes to find someone to release her. I wonder what it is with little people and power.
The bar business is picking up steam nicely, we have made a few mistakes and its been a steep learning curve, but we are finding things easier now. A lot of effort has been put into not only making our bars easier to operate, but also to increasing the dispensing capacity. The first of our mass dispense units arrive next month, each one capable of dispensing upto 1500 pints per hour, so we are ready to move up a gear into the small festival and outdoor show markets, as well as larger private events. Details are here.
For some reason we have picked up a number of bookings from NewZealand based companies. all for our slush carts and all at exhibitions lasting 2 to 3 days. I wonder if we should open an office over there, I quite fancy spending my winters somewhere warmer.
We are also adding a new game to our lineup, consisting of remote controlled World War 2 tanks which combat each other using infra red beams on a portable battle field, this one will be big boys toys I think, and is intended to be one of the offerings on our new teambuilding website which will be launched in the new year. We are combining with a couple of other established agencies to provide a series of teambuilding games to tap into that market.
